When it comes to placing display ads in online newspaper publications, why not be a little creative and think outside the box of traditional exposure and try something a little unconventional but at the same time quite familiar.  Link the multimedia aspect of televison and movie theater promtion to newspaper advertising. Put a scrolling annimation in your display ad. Then, link that display ad with help from a graphic video button to a Squidoo lens that showcases BizVids (Business Video clips).

Lamar: ..... Are you suggesting every ad should have a Towncrier to keep the ad producing long after the newspaper is lining the Parrot cage?

WOW! .... What a great idea! .... Why didn't I think of that?

Teddy,

I think everyone should take a look at what you are accomplishing on Twitter and pay attention to HOW you have done it. I have increased my Twitter following substantially since taking your advice. I have two Twitwalls, an automated personal networking assistant and MORE thanks to your advice.

Honestly, if more folks would focus upon really doing what business networking is designed to do rather than simply using it a SPAMMING medium, a great deal more could be accomplished for everyone. But, that requires a mindset change. And, sadly a great many people simply are not willing to "change their mind." They are too set in their ways. And, that is the BIG PROBLEM as I see it.

Insanity has been defined as "doing the same thing over-and-over again and expecting things to change." When are folks going to rid themselves of their stubborn ways and seek to truly change their lives for the better?

I, for one, say "Thank you, Teddy Towncrier for taking the time to show me how to be more productive online."

Teddy I think you need to run a competition on How To Sell A Towncrier.

We'd all have a better way to promote it then. Right now I have still a very shadowy idea of it as an actual "thing" (product to buy)

I'd really rather like to know precisely how to

a) recognise an opportunity to direct someone to it, and

b)know how to do that in a way that is direct and irresistible

Thanks too, for your willingness to share. I hope I say it enough but if I don't know that I always appreciate it.

@Lindy.

I really appreciate you bringing this to my attention because I gives me an opportunity to rectify any oversights.

When you requested our overview folio from Http://stranglers.latest-info.com.  Which part(s) haven't I made clear enough.

Thanks for your valued interest in Towncrier's success and for giving me this opportunity to clarify.

Question: Are Teddy Towncrier and I the only ones on this network using BizVids (business videos) to spread our business message? If so, I really believe a lot of you folks are missing out on a wonderful promotional resource - video clips.

Believe it or not, you can actually create those videos without a video camera or even a webcam. If you happen to be using Windows XP, the program called "Windows Movie Maker" will take JPEGs placed on an audio timeline and record both as a single video file. This is not a new technological innnovation. It is old by today's computer standards. But, it is an innovation I think most peopole have yet to take seriously. It really does work quite well.

@Teddy That link goes to
http://globespantv.net/Stranglers.htm

Neither URLs are good from a search point of view.

If my question is: What Is A Towncrier? There isn't an answer on that page.

There are questions, and I imagine a sign-up to something (not sure what exactly, from the information on the page)

If I look at the keywords, I get a clue: autoresponder, yet that isn't mentioned on the page.

What I'd like to know is:

What is a Towncrier?
How does it work for me?
Is it good for me or is it geared for some other type of business?
How much does it cost?
How much value could it bring?
Supposing I know what a Towncrier is, what do I do to get one?

How long does it take to get it?
How long does it last?

Lindy,

As you know, Teddy's last name is "Towncrier." However, the term you want explained is actually two words - "town crier." Here is what town crier means as defined by Wikipedia:

"A town crier is a person who is employed by a town council to make public announcements in the streets. The crier can also be used in court or official announcements. Criers often dress elaborately, by a tradition dating to the 18th century, in a red and gold robe, white breeches, black boots and a tricorne hat.

"They carry a handbell to attract people's attention, as they shout the words "Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!" before making their announcements. The word "Oyez" means "hear ye," which is a call for silence and attention. Oyez derives from the Anglo-Norman word for listen. The proclamations book in Chester from the early 19th century records this as O Yes, O Yes!"

I don't know if that was in any way the feedback you were seeking, but it is what Wikipedia had to say.

@Lindy & Lamar.

Since I'm not aware of anyone here in need of radical surgery .... I don't see the need to expand on proceedures and instruments likely to be used.

The very comprehensive overview folio contains all the information with which to make an informed decision.

Upon reviewing the information; Genuinely interested folks have a clearer idea of What, Why, How and most importantly ... When.   With an open cheque book in clear view.

Mr Green has to be at that meeting.

Teddy, your secret men's business is not the part that is missing.

It is the information that I'd need to identify something that would be of use to me... and that I could use to identify a quality prospect for you.

Mr Green is fond of this information too, I understand. ;-)
